GEMINI FULL MOON

I was meditating feeling the energies of this full moon, when all of a sudden it took me way back to a childhood memory, where I experienced the epic ‘Star Wars trilogy’ for the very first time. It was my first recollection of how a young Jedi (Luke Skywalker) battled the dark with his light...

"As the young Jedi looked out over the sand dunes, knowing that he had just defeated his father. With a heavy heart and facing his own feelings of loss, he couldn't help but think he might have been able to save him from turning to the dark side. Then, out of nowhere… master yoda appeared! 'You cannot save everyone Luke, not even your father. You must let those choose their own destiny. We all have light and dark within us, but it's only what we feed on the most that will determine which path we follow. I sense the force is strong with you Luke, that your light will always prevail. Continue to defeat the enemy by using this gift you have been given, and, I promise… you will receive the greatest love of all'. And in that moment, he knew he had finally come home."

This full moon in Gemini has us battling between the Light and Dark, Love and Hate, Win and Loose, Fight or Flight - After all, this is the sign of the twins and the ying/yang energy. Communicating with our hearts instead of coming from ego will help during this intense moon phase.

With so many planets that have been retrograding this year, and with all this stop start energy, it's been really difficult to make any real progress upon our destined path. Patience, hard work, dedication and courage has played a key part in manifesting our dreams.

Although it may have seemed like a frustrating year for many of us, it's really been a great time for introspection, conquering our fears, healing our wounds and deciding what's no longer coming on our journeys with us. The last 11 months has had us look deep within our psyches, finally clearing out any lingering outdated belief systems, of who we thought we should be like in the world. In order for us to ascend to the next level we have to put our past to bed. That includes our own unhealthy patterns and self-sabotaging behaviours. And also letting go of the people and places that we are no longer in alignment with.

It's difficult watching those we once cherished fade from our lives, but we must continue to grow and nurture the fruits of our labour. With a new dawn brings new soul connections and new tests for us to overcome. This time though bringing different lessons for us to learn. We have done enough inner work with our self-worth that we can recognise and cut cords with any toxic connections that try to use manipulation or dishonesty for their own gain. We will no longer tolerate deceit and lies from those who only seek to take advantage. We will be more drawn to souls who see our true potential, who come with a compassionate understanding for seeing the greatness that has always been within us, who lift us up, and want nothing more than to see us grow into the best versions of ourselves.

Many astrologers will tell you, while mercury's in retrograde that it's best to hold off from starting anything new. Hold off purchasing expensive gifts, signing contracts, launching a new career/project, or diving deep into a new romance. I say, we still need to live our lives. So just be extra cautious when it comes down to dotting the I's and crossing the T's. And go with flow when it comes to experiencing one-on-one connections. We're here to enjoy our interactions, not fear them. When we let go of attachments to any outcomes, we ultimately express our true self instead of projecting out a false perception of who we really are for fear of being abandoned or rejected.

Remember, whatever blessings that are meant for us, will ultimately find its way to us...

This is a period of self-growth, and a fresh start. Not letting outside influences distract us from our mission and ultimate goal of achieving our desires. By opening our hearts. By being transparent and walking in our truth, whether we unconsciously know it or not, we send out a signal that attracts characters and situations which we feel we are worthy of receiving. Or to teach us lessons in our self-worth that help us overcome our fears and destructive patterns.

Connecting with like-minded souls during this period can play a big part in helping with our growth. We will find comfort in bonding with those who understand us on a deeper level.

Have fun with this transit, but don't be too eager to get to the final destination. Once the fogginess starts to clear in the coming weeks, you'll have a better understanding of where your path is heading.

With the New Year on the horizon, and bringing with it a new shift in energy, we will look back on 2018 and see just how far we have come. And for some of us, we will hardly recognise the new improved version of ourselves. Let's face it, it's been a long time coming.
