"In loving memory of Margaret Elizabeth Cunningham (known as Peggy) - October 1931 to May 2018".

She had fond memories of those days, the ones where she couldn't wait to spend the weekends with you. She remembered how she felt when she walked through the front door. A night spent with her favourite companion, never expecting anything but joy!

It always had that homely smell of your fragrance mixed with wood shavings and granddads pipe, that seemed to have lingered on after he had gone. She always knew what to expect from you, you never knew it, but you were her special sanctuary. The one where she could be herself, and feel completely safe within your warming embrace.

She remembered the little things the most. The way you peeled her apples in the most loving way. How you managed to get from one end to the other without breaking that spiral, fascinated her little soul. And the money jar full of 20p’s that you collected, just for her. The excitement in her little face when you would ask, what she would spend it on? And her, blurting out with a cheeky grin... “chocolates and crisps of course”.

And how you watched her favourite Disney films on repeat... over, and over, and over again! While you grinned and bared Mary Poppins for the hundredth time. She loved you so much for that!

And in turn, she grew to love watching all your old favourite films! From ‘Singing in the Rain’ to ‘I love Lucy’, on a Saturday afternoon.

And as she pranced around the living room, like it was her stage and you were her audience, taking a curtsy while you clapped and cheered for the little star that she was. Before tucking her into bed. Before that final kiss goodnight. She will always remember when you whispered... "Be sure to follow your Dreams!”

Well, she’s living her life to the fullest now! She’s definitely living her dreams!

She knew she could do no wrong in your eyes, you loved her unconditionally. She loved everything about you, and that's how she'll remember you.

Because that little girl was your granddaughter. That little girl was me.

And now you’re flying around the ethers, and your soul is finally at peace. I look up to the sky and thank my angels, for sending you to me.

Until we meet again!

I love you Nan!
